Maybe We’re Like Johnny and Penn

Hey guys.

That title probably doesn’t make that much sense. I’m watching a movie on Netflix and Johnny and Penn are two characters who start out in a relationship and who do love and care about each other, but they’re not right for each other in that way. So they split up.

There’s a difference between them and how I’m feeling though.

I’m head over heels madly and deeply in love with him. He made me believe in love again. He stole my heart and he’s everything I’ve ever wanted in my life. He is my life.

But when I see people kissing in movies with that spark in their eyes, kissing deeply and lovingly and emotionally, it hurts my heart, because he doesn’t kiss me like that. He doesn’t pull me close to him and tangle his fingers in my hair and kiss me like I’m the only girl he’s ever kissed. I get life isn’t a movie and things aren’t a fairytale. But I just want to feel like his dream girl.

I don’t want to feel like he’s forcing himself to be in love with me when his heart is somewhere else. I think we could be amazing friends. We could have a great time hanging out and playing Pokemon Go and playing COD and watching movies and we could laugh all the time.

But as I think about us moving in together and sharing a room, sharing intimate space and about how he stops talking so much when I talk about things like marriage and the future, I can’t help thinking maybe we should have stayed friends.

Maybe when I started looking at him and feeling my heart skip beats I should have ignored it. When I told him I liked him and he talked about still being obsessed with his ex, maybe I should have let it go there.

I don’t know if I’ll even post this, but I can’t help thinking as I sit here, that maybe the man of my dreams, only sees me as a friend when I see him as home.

Thanks for listening guys.

Sierra Burgess is a Loser! (Movie Review)

Hey everyone!

Time for another movie review!

So last night I watched a Netflix classic called: Sierra Burgess is a Loser!

So this movie follows a teenage girl who is in high school and unpopular. The plot of the movie revolves around a popular girl giving Sierra’s number to a boy, making him think it is indeed the popular girl’s number.

Sierra and the boy (Jayme) text back and forth, Jayme all the while thinking that he is texting the popular girl.

I really liked the movie. I thought it had funny parts but also heartfelt points and an overall lovely message.

However, I have a question. During the movie it’s shown that Sierra is smart, funny, very talented, and involved in some school activities. The only reason she’s deemed unpopular is because of her looks. She isn’t deemed attractive enough to her peers and is therefore, shunned.

So I’m wondering if this is an appropriate message to show our younger generation? Yes, everything works out in the end and the girl gets the guy anyway. You should know there’s spoiler alerts by now! However my whole thing is that their still showing that high school (and middle school) kids shun other kids solely on their appearance.

Do you think, as parents or not, that the generation is actually swayed by what they see and that, seeing such a thing in a movie, might convince them (more so than already) that judging a peer on how they look and not their character and personality is ok?

That it’s acceptable, by society’s terms, to judge someone’s worth on what they look like and their talent on how attractive they are?

I would just like everyone else’s feedback and what they think!

In other terms and disregarding what message it could, unintentionally, be sending I thought it was a good movie and I would recommend watching it!

Thank you guys for the support and for your continued reading!

The Harry Potter Series

Hey everyone!

So I wanted to talk about something that I enjoy very much and have for a while now and that’s the Harry Potter series. I’m currently watching (for the billionth time) the last movie and I absolutely love this series. I read the books when I was still in elementary school and they helped me through a lot of issues at home and at school. There’s so many great messages in these books about friendship and love and bravery and sacrifice.

I also just love how the books are written and the wonderful imagery that they describe.

I love the movies too even though it upsets me that so many things in the books aren’t in the movies. I understand that the movies would have to be a LOT longer for everything in the books to be in them but there’s some things I feel should have been included.

For example I feel like the movies could have benefited from some comic relief from peeves the poltergeist who is in every single book but not in any of the movies. That small detail has always upset me a bit.

If you haven’t read them or at least seen the movies I highly recommend them, I think they’re pretty awesome! I also recommend going online and checking which house you’re in and what wand you would have on a website like Pottermore. If you’re really into the series it is a lot of fun!

Thanks everyone. Let me know in the comments which is your favorite!

Beauty and the Beast Review (French 2014 Version)

Hey everyone!

So I was just on Netflix and I searched for a Cinderella Story with Hillary Duff because I love that movie and Beauty and the Beast came up but a version I hadn’t seen before. (probably because it’s French) Now as you probably know since I just got a tattoo of a rose that’s supposed to be from Beauty and the Beast, I love that movie so I decided to watch it.As it turns out I think it was dubbed on Netflix to English so luckily I could understand it because I don’t speak French. I was actually shocked how different this version was from the regular version I was so used to seeing. Without giving anything away there’s plunderers, nymphs, lots and lots of roses, a beast (obviously) and some beagles. Overall I actually really really loved this version and definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a new twist on an old classic.

I am sorry this was such a short post but I do think this movie was great and I really don’t want to give anything away. Thanks for reading and if everyone would like, maybe I will give a more detailed review of this movie in the future. Another movie I want to review soon which I just watched yesterday is Penelope. Yes this is an older movie but I hadn’t seen it yet.

Thanks again for all your support!

Coco

Hey everyone!

So I watched a new Disney movie the other night and I wanted to share my opinions on it.  The movie is called Coco. There’s this boy who ends up in the Land of the Dead and is trying to find De la Cruz!

So, I’m not going to give spoilers but I really liked the movie. It’s cute and the animation is adorable. It did make me cry though and some themes I thought were a little much for children. (such as murder). Overall I think it’s a great family movie and I would definitely watch it again. The colors and details are adorable and will definitely be enjoyed by kids.

If there’s a movie you would like to see me rate, let me know!

Thanks for all your support!

Sinuses!

Is anyone else having horrible sinus issues? My head feels like it’s stuffed with cotton balls! I usually have that during this time of year but it seems to be even worse this year. I am going to try to post a short story or a poem later on. Not feeling up to par lately. I hope everyone is doing well!

I have been having some anxiety lately because I am moving to a different shift at work in the next few weeks. I have covered for that shift a couple times so I do know what needs to get done but it’s still nerve-wracking. Ironically I think it will be LESS stressful once I get started because I work in retail and the shift I am moving to is the least busy out of all the shifts. My main reasons for moving shifts are that it includes a pay raise and also my boyfriend is moving shifts at his job and we will be working at around the same times instead of how it is now where i’m going into work as he’s getting out of work.

Currently I am watching HellBoy II: The Golden Army. What are everyone else’s favorite movies?

I’m sorry that this post was so short and not filled with my usual deep discussion today. Just not feeling myself. I am going to try to write some short fiction and get it posted before bed and you will likely have another post “today” as it’s 12:21am right now where I am. As always, I hope you all have a good night!
