this is going to be a short post but I wanted to share with everyone what’s going to be coming soon. So tomorrow is Sunday and I will be coming back from vacation at some point tomorrow. I hope to share lots of pictures with you guys and let you know what we did and some fun spots to visit!
I’m sorry this was such a short post but I hope you stay tuned for tomorrow and I’m excited to share it with you!
I will also hopefully be sharing more of my short story with you guys so let me know if you want to read more about that!
I’m also having trouble thinking of a name for my main character so if you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them in the comments!
So I talked a little bit in a previous post about how much I love the beach and the ocean and how it helps with my anxiety and helps me de-stress. Well I found out recently that I am actually going to the beach in late July. Work and life has been particularily stressful lately and I think it will definitely help.
I will make sure to take pictures and share them from the trip and hopefully I will remember to schedule some posts for when I’m gone.
I talk about the negatives of anxiety and how it’s affected my past and my relationships in a negative way but I also wanted to share the positives of how you can relax and some things that can help your anxiety even if they can’t cure it. I think being close to nature and the ocean helps us just reconnect to our souls and focus just on us and the universe and Earth and just brings us peace and calm. At least it does for me.
I also am beginning to appreciate classical music and the lack of words. Just listening to the instruments is surprisingly calming. Reading is helping a lot too and I’m currently in the middle of re-reading the Harry Potter books that brought me so much joy in my childhood, hoping that I can bring back that joy and those feelings I experienced as a kid. It truly is magical.
To end this post I would like to share a quote from one of my favorite fictional characters, Albus Dumbledore
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of time, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
So I talk a lot about what makes me anxious and stressed everyday so I thought today I would go in a little bit of a different direction and talk about what helps me de-stress and relax.
I love listening to music and just relaxing and I also love reading books (Especially the Harry Potter books) but the thing that makes me the most happy and relaxed is going to the beach. Both of my grandmothers live in New Jersey and I’ve spent most of my life going to the beach for the summer and the boardwalk. I just feel so relaxed and at peace when I go to the ocean and listen to the waves and feel the sand under my toes. I also love walking through the woods so really I think just being out in nature helps me relax and de-stress. Unfortunately I also burn really easily so these two things tend to conflict.
My boyfriend has never been to New Jersey or the boardwalk so I’m hoping the two of us can take a short vacation this year and go visit the beach and that will definitely make me feel better since I’ve been super stressed lately with work and living with my parents still.
So yeah, that’s a little bit of what helps me relax and de-stress. What do you do for fun and to help relax in your spare time?
As always, have a goodnight!
